~Male!Reader X Seychelles~
------

You sighed and sat on the dock, holding your blanket closer around you. Gingerly dipping your feet in the warm water, you swung your legs back and forth, pulling out your book to resume your reading. Even though you had come to see your best friend, she’d been busy the entire time with swimming around in the waters you loathed.

You and Michelle were peculiar friends. You had met through her brother, Matthew, and now whenever he and their adoptive father Francis (along with her step-brother Alfred and step-father Arthur) came to visit Michelle on her island home, they’d let you tag along. Sometimes you would stay up in the beach house all day, or sometimes you would come down to play volleyball with the other brother, Alfred. Cooking was appointed to you (to keep out of the hands of Arthur), and tonight you had all just finished a particularly good barbeque.

Michelle loved the water. She always spent every moment she could down at the beach. You however hated water. You had always had an irrational fear of what was out in the vast ocean, and wouldn’t go out farther than your waist. Once when you were little you almost drowned, and you were weary of it ever since.

Letting your blanket slip down to reveal your bare chest, you flipped a page in your book and swung your legs, creating ripples in the calm water. It was afternoon and the sun was just beginning to set; but you were too immersed in the text upon your book pages to pay attention to it, or anything else for that matter. Not even the tanned girl who popped out of the water beneath you, looking up expectantly.

“Seaweed head.” She said, making a little splashing noise and trying to get your attention.

“Cheap sushi roll.” You countered in a bored tone, not even looking up. Michelle was not pleased with this, and determined it a fit time to harshly yank on your foot. You yelped and slid closer to the edge of the dock, dropping your book. Thankfully your friend caught it and handed it back to you, before the pages could get too wet.

“Oopsies.” She said a little too gleefully, sinking back into the water until she was at neck-level, her pigtails floating out around her in the water. You tried to give her your most frustrated pout, but you could never stay mad at her for long.

“You should come in with me~!” She said in a sudden change of subject, kicking her legs and swimming out on her back. This gave you a good view of her blue bikini, which you blushed at, and shook your head quickly.

“I don’t wanna. You know that.”

“But the waters fine!” She kicked a leg up and sprinkled some water on your shorts-clad lap.

“I don’t like it.”

“But I do!”

“Doesn’t mean I do.” You sighed, pinching the bridge of your nose. You liked Michelle a lot, but sometimes she could be a bit whiny and bossy. “You know I really hate it. The only reason I ever come out is to see you.”

You could of swore you saw her blush, but it might have just been a sunburn. She shook her head, fanning her arms out and floating on her back. “But I really want you too! It’ll be fun! I won’t let you drown or anything like that. Promise.”

“Michelle...”

“I’ll give you a kiss!” She blurted out, blushing again and sitting up straight in the water, wading with her hands and legs. “If you come out to where I am now, I’ll kiss you as a reward.”

“Wh-Wha—Michelle!” You screeched, not believing what you heard as red dusted your cheeks too. Her offer sounded pleasing; you thought it might just be worth it. But, it was a large task….

“Oh come on. You know you wanna.”

“Sh-Shut up…” You said in response to her teasing, although your movements showed you were at least going to try. You wrapped up your book in your blanket and left it on the dock, slowly easing yourself down into the water in your shorts. Michelle smiled, pleased, as she held her arms out to you.

“See? Just like that! Now kick over here!” She encouraged you, nodding and holding a large smile on her face, much like that of a mother teaching a child to walk. Of course to her, swimming was more important than walking.

You nervously bit your lower lip and felt your feet brush the low, sandy bottom, making you jump and splash a little. You hated it when things unexpectedly bumped into or touched you—It was a good reason you hated the ocean.

“Use the floor to kick off,” She instructed, making a pushing motion with her hands above the water. “Like that. You’ll move quicker.”

Taking her advice, you gently pushed off the ground and moved about a foot or some forward, not only about 3 feet away from Michelle. You began to tremble a little, but you told yourself it was just from the cooling water.

“That’s it! Just a little more now!”

You tried it again, this time pushing off harder. It propelled you the rest of the way out, your outstretched arms floating into Michelle’s. She squealed and kicked her feet excitedly, swimming a little closer to close the gap and hug you. You quickly wrapped your arms around her bare waist for something to hold onto, and pulled her close as you tried to mimic her wading motion.

The two of you sat there like that for a moment, floating and making sure the two of you were stable. Michelle put her arms around you shoulders and beamed, not only proud of herself for teaching you, but proud of you for finally being able to do it. “(F/N)! Look at you! You’re gonna be a champ swimmer in no time~!”

“H-Heh.. Y-Yeah..” You said sheepishly, blushing and looking down. After a second you felt her hand under your chin, lifting it up to make you face forward, before a soft pair of lips delicately pressed against yours. She squeezed her eyes shut and you did too, your face a considerable amount redder than hers. Both your hearts fluttered at the gentle but passionate kiss, and you didn’t let go of her when you pulled away.

“…So, was it worth it?”

“Definitely.”
And finally this challenge has updated! So this is part 8 to the XReader 100 Oneshot Challenge! This is my first time writing a male reader, or even anything with Seychelles, so I hope I did alright! Also this new submission page is weird, so I hope I didn't mess anything up. >.<
